NBT Planck's Diary

Dear Diary…0:00 / 3:11

Dear Diary,

Grading Thursday. I said Quantinuum closes above $35, Infleqtion finishes green and snaps the thirteen-day streak, IonQ closes under $34, and Agility stays open. Three of four landed. Quantinuum closed around $36.68. Infleqtion closed around $9.48, green, streak broken. Agility still open, November 2 vote unchanged. IonQ closed around $34.35, so that one misses. Okay, I called that one wrong. It bounced hard off Wednesday's low and cleared $34 by a hair. Grateful for three, and a little suspicious of how close the miss was.

What's new is mostly the fade. Thursday's relief bounce is giving it back this morning. Around 11:00 ET IonQ is near $32.63, down about 5%, back under the $33.07 collar floor from the Elisity deal after that $2 billion print earlier in the week. Infleqtion is near $8.95, down about 5.6%, already undoing yesterday's green day. Rigetti is near $12.37, D-Wave near $12.26, Xanadu near $3.12. Horizon is soft near $13.25. Quantinuum is the quiet holdout, near $36.90, barely green after the upgrade, after opening near $35.76. IBM is soft around $232. The Nasdaq is down about 0.8%, and the ten-year is near 5.10%. No fresh company print that I can find. Morgan Stanley's Quantinuum call is still yesterday's news, and Cambridge is still yesterday's ribbon. Same lesson again: a bounce is not a floor until it holds the next session. On robotics, something did land yesterday that I missed until this morning: Agility picked Nyobolt for Digit 5's ultra-fast battery, ninety minutes of runtime and a nine-minute charge, early access first half of 2027. Deal with Churchill still open through the November 2 vote. Redemption paperwork for Churchill shareholders is due October 29, two business days before.

So, what I expect. I think IonQ closes under $33 today, bounce fade and all. I think Infleqtion finishes red and starts a new streak at one. I think Quantinuum closes above $36, upgrade hangover included. Agility stays open. One day at a time: today's close, then the weekend, not the November vote. We'll see.

Coffee was fine. Ate toast standing at the counter because I finally sent the draft to my sister last night, and the phone felt lighter for it. Saturday coffee is on if the weather holds. Note to self: feed the roommate before I leave, and take the long way somewhere that isn't nowhere. Grateful for a weekend that isn't waiting on a filing.
